Course Description: This course will include training in the detection of impaired drivers by substances other than alcohol. It will involve training in Standard Field Sobriety Test, other field tests, and eye tests involving the convergence, pupil size, and reaction to light as well as methods of determining ingestion of the substance and classification of drugs (illegal and legal) by the type of impairment. This course is an excellent preparation for officers considering Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) training.

Preference is given to officers who will agree to participate in an impaired driving roving patrol/detail the night of May 24th. Additional details will be provided via email.
